We have moved... again!
But this time into our own house! Effective April 6, 2008 we live in Herford, in the suburb called Herringhausen. It is only 20 mins away from Bielefeld where we lived for 3 years, a nice housing area close to my hubby's office and his parents' house. Important places like supermarkets, kindergarten & school, playground, doctors, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants, bus stops, etc. are all in walking distance and luckily it is only 3 km away from the city centre of Herford.The first 3 weeks were pretty hectic, as we had to buy lots of stuff and do lots of things in the house. Well, mostly was done by painters, my handy hubby and our good friends. Within 4 weeks we could sit back and relax as it was 95% finished, bravo! Meanwhile we were also busy inviting people to have BBQ in our big garden, which is also completely done, thanks to my beloved mother-in-law who loves gardening and has spent many hours making it look really nice!
Now we have never ending space in the house and our little prince has a nice big bedroom as well as a cozy playroom.
We plan to make a house-warming party in July, as our birthdays are in June and July. We reckon it will be quite a big party and we look forward to it!!!
Our new address and online photo album link to view the house will be emailed to our families and friends.

OUR FIRST LITTLE WONDER WAS BORN!!!

"Herzlich Willkommen auf der Welt!"
First of all, we would like to thank God for His most precious gift, a healthy and cute baby boy. I was blessed during my healthy and easy pregnancy and we are very grateful that our wonderful baby is fine now after the amazingly dramatic birth. We also thank our beloved families and friends all over the world for all their best wishes, advises, prayers and gifts. Last but not least, Frau Dr. Reichel's team, the friendly Kreißsaal team at Franziskus Hospital and the doctors & nurses at Bethel Kinderklinik in Bielefeld for their professional medical supports. Without them we would not have made it...!
Ohne die tolle Unterstützung, hätten wir es doch nicht geschafft!

Relaxing Period...
Effective 9th May I am no longer working for Bertelsmann {Arvato Direct Services GmbH (Microsoft Regional Service Centre for EMEA)}, so my work e-mail address (sulis.kneist@bertelsmann.de) is no longer active. But my personal e-mail address remains unchanged (sulisamir@hotmail.com).

After having worked for almost 2 years in Germany, I am taking it easy now to prepare for the big day around the end of July when our first baby is scheduled to come to this world. We are also excited about my mother's visit in July! And our best friends from Townsville [Australia] will also come to visit us. So our house will be full of joy...!
We thank God for the healthy and easy pregnancy I have been experiencing now for the past 7 months. Hopefully everything will be just fine, smooth and as expected until the end of it and everyone is healthy and happy...

* Merry Christmas *
To all our beloved families, relatives and friends all over the world who celebrate Christmas... May this day bring joy and peace to us all!!!

My best friend who was in the same colleague in Jakarta (1991-1994) and who has been working in Holland since 1999, Ratna, visited us to celebrate this special event together with my German family and to experience the German tradition. She stayed for a couple of days before she flew to Austria & Switzerland to celebrate new year with her boyfriend and his family. It was very nice and we all had a good time. Mutti of course made the best cookies and decorated the house with a lovely big Christmas tree. There were as usual plenty of gifts under the tree. Oma was very week, but she managed to climb down the stairs to have a nice big dinner with us. This year we did not take her to the church (but took Ratna instead). The doctors doubted that Oma would survive this Christmas, but she did!

This Christmas was also one of the special ones, since we both made a very special announcement to Wolfie's parents that I am now 9 weeks pregnant! We enclosed our baby's first USG picture in one of the gifts for Mutti. It actually does not look like anything yet, but she put it on a little frame anyway, very funny. They were both very happy and also excited about it. Oma cried a bit and said she might not survive that long to see our first baby... That was quite sad. We kept telling her she is a strong woman and she knows we are always there for her. We will have to see what the future brings and wish her also the best... We actually found out about my pregnancy when we were back from our last Indo holiday couple weeks ago, but we waited until this day to tell them, as we thought it would be a nice rare gift for them and it really was!

* Idul Fitri Holiday *
"Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri ~ Mohon Maaf Lahir dan Batin"

To celebrate the end of Ramadhan month with our Indo families, we flew to Jakarta as we always do every year. We stayed in Indonesia from 22nd October until 15th November. We went to other cities (Puncak, Bogor, Bandung) and flew to Bali island, but spent most of the time in my beloved Jakarta city with my big family. On one hand it is kind of hectic for Wolfie to stay for too long in this huge metropolitan city, on the other hand I feel kind of guilty when I travel around for too long while I am there, as going home for me means spending time with my beloved family and enjoying my old 'home' atmosphere. So we arranged that Wolfie could stay longer on Bali and I went back earlier to organise my visa for UAE and spend more time with family and also old friends.

On the way back home we stopped over in Dubai for 3 days before we flew back to good old Germany. We did sightseeing tour and shopped 'till we dropped in those giant malls. We also joined a dessert safari - thank God we did not vomit in that clean 4-wheel car, as it was pure adrenalin sport! Dubai is a very interesting wealthy city which has been developing rapidly with thousands of building sites at the moment. They predict that most of these buildings will have been standing amazingly in 2010. The city overall looks artificial, but it is definitely worth to be checked out once. As we were there in winter, we did not suffer from the heat. Just remember not to visit UAE in summer, or you will have to hide in the air-conditioned rooms and cars all the time!

Birthday Party
It is very practical to celebrate our birthdays together, as his is in June & mine is in July. Besides, it is in summer so we can just be spontaneous to make a BBQ in the garden & I also cooked some Indo foods of course.

German Courses
'Sprachschule' alias sekolah bahasa adalah yang tersirat pertama kali waktu ditanya Wolfie mau cari kesibukan apa. Dia sih tadinya mau ngirim ogut ke 'Fahrschule' alias sekolah nyetir biar cepet dapet SIM, tapi kayanya ini kurang urgent, toh masih punya SIM Indo yang bisa dipake selama 6 bln. Kalo kursus ditunda takutnya nanti keburu males & makin 'hilang' itu bahasa dari ingatan soalnya kan kita belum pernah tinggal di Jerman. Belum lagi nanti keburu kepentok sama liburan musim panas sebentar lagi.

:: Internationaler Bund (IB) - Tandem International ::
Jadilah ujian gak bisa ikut tapi ikut y.a.d. nanti bulan Februari.
