To all our beloved families, relatives and friends all over the world who celebrate Christmas... May this day bring joy and peace to us all!!!


My best friend who was in the same colleague in Jakarta (1991-1994) and who has been working in Holland since 1999, Ratna, visited us to celebrate this special event together with my German family and to experience the German tradition. She stayed for a couple of days before she flew to Austria & Switzerland to celebrate new year with her boyfriend and his family. It was very nice and we all had a good time. Mutti of course made the best cookies and decorated the house with a lovely big Christmas tree. There were as usual plenty of gifts under the tree. Oma was very week, but she managed to climb down the stairs to have a nice big dinner with us. This year we did not take her to the church (but took Ratna instead). The doctors doubted that Oma would survive this Christmas, but she did!


This Christmas was also one of the special ones, since we both made a very special announcement to Wolfie's parents that I am now 9 weeks pregnant! We enclosed our baby's first USG picture in one of the gifts for Mutti. It actually does not look like anything yet, but she put it on a little frame anyway, very funny. They were both very happy and also excited about it. Oma cried a bit and said she might not survive that long to see our first baby... That was quite sad. We kept telling her she is a strong woman and she knows we are always there for her. We will have to see what the future brings and wish her also the best... We actually found out about my pregnancy when we were back from our last Indo holiday couple weeks ago, but we waited until this day to tell them, as we thought it would be a nice rare gift for them and it really was!
